The studio will be CLOSED on Wednesday, January 26 due to the national weather service issuing a winter storm warning for snow.

* PRECIPITATION TYPE... SNOW... HEAVY AT TIMES LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS... 5 TO 10 INCHES.

* TIMING... A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW BEGINNING MID AFTERNOON... QUICKLY CHANGING TO ALL SNOW. SNOW WILL END AFTER MIDNIGHT FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL IMPACT THE AFTERNOON RUSH HOUR.

We encourage everyone to take a make-up class for the missed class(es).

Spring Ballet Cast List

Congratulations to everyone who auditioned for Sleeping Beauty. You really made our jobs difficult! Click here for the cast list. Rehearsal schedules will be available for pick-up in the office. Remember, every MONDAY, please check the board in the office for any changes... we aren’t perfect and we make mistakes, also we sometimes need more time for a certain group, sometimes there is an injury and we need to re-choreograph/recast, and sometimes you throw us a curve ball with a conflictHappy So, please be patient with us. We all want to put on a great show!

Ballet Technique class for Young Men

Professional dancer, Mr John Mayer will be teaching a beginner basics ballet class for High School and University age men. No experience necessary.

Nutcracker DVD's

The 2010 Nutcracker DVD’s are available for pick-up in the office. If you forgot to order one, we do have a few extra’s.

Tremaine Workshop & Competition

Dancers from FBC attended the Tremaine Workshop dancing from 8am-3pm on Saturday and 8am-2:30 on Sunday. They learned routines in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Fushion Jazz, Character (by Joe Tremaine himself), Musical Theater, Rhythm Tap, Hip-Hop and this years favorite style, Street Jazz, taught by Tony Bellissimo Season 5 Top 20 contestant on “So You Think You Can Dance” as well as in the movie “Step Up 3D.” Don’t miss Tony on FOX’s “GLEE” the episode to air in January after the Super Bowl. Jennifer Tobin made it all the way as a finalist in the scholarship audition.

The FBC dance teams also competed. Soloists Jessica Cornell (Muscial theater) and Maggie Steckler (Jazz) received 2nd place in their categories. Madeliene Surles (Lyrical) and Abigail Bishop (Jazz) received 3rd place. Heather Forrest danced her heart out in the most competitive and toughest category, Senior Lyrical.

Our Trio team of Hayley Burton, Sydney O’Toole and Sara Rice received 2nd place in Jazz. Jr Pom got 2nd place (for 4 of the dancers, this was their very 1st competition every!). Jr Lyrical and Sr Pom received 3rd place. And a great big congratulations to Ms Amy and the FBC Tap Team for receiving 1st place!

Monday, January 17

The studio will be OPEN on Martin Luther King Jr Day.

We are closing early tonight due to icy conditions. The 7:15 and later classes will be cancelled. Thanks and be safe!

Spring Show Costumes

Balance on Spring Show Costumes are DUE:  January 22nd
If your child is NOT going to participate in the show, please inform your teacher AND the office ASAP.

Jr Company- Ballet Int I/II/III auditions 1:00-2:30
Sr Company- Ballet Int IV/V/Adv audtions 3:00-5:00 (Adv Ballet till 5:30)
Performance is on March 27 at 3:00 held at James Monroe High School
Rehearsals start weekend of January 29,30
Student may choose to rehearse SAT ONLY, SUN ONLY or choose BOTH.
Saturday, March 26th is the in studio Dress Rehearsal and is MANDATORY.
