Tremaine Workshop & Competition

Dancers from FBC attended the Tremaine Workshop dancing from 8am-3pm on Saturday and 8am-2:30 on Sunday. They learned routines in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Fushion Jazz, Character (by Joe Tremaine himself), Musical Theater, Rhythm Tap, Hip-Hop and this years favorite style, Street Jazz, taught by Tony Bellissimo Season 5 Top 20 contestant on “So You Think You Can Dance” as well as in the movie “Step Up 3D.” Don’t miss Tony on FOX’s “GLEE” the episode to air in January after the Super Bowl. Jennifer Tobin made it all the way as a finalist in the scholarship audition.
The FBC dance teams also competed. Soloists Jessica Cornell (Muscial theater) and Maggie Steckler (Jazz) received 2nd place in their categories. Madeliene Surles (Lyrical) and Abigail Bishop (Jazz) received 3rd place. Heather Forrest danced her heart out in the most competitive and toughest category, Senior Lyrical.
Our Trio team of Hayley Burton, Sydney O’Toole and Sara Rice received 2nd place in Jazz. Jr Pom got 2nd place (for 4 of the dancers, this was their very 1st competition every!). Jr Lyrical and Sr Pom received 3rd place. And a great big congratulations to Ms Amy and the FBC Tap Team for receiving 1st place!
